The work of Dundee Citizens Advice Bureau wouldn’t be possible without volunteers. Nationally, 80% of CAB workers are volunteers and they are a valued and valuable resource.
As well as the satisfaction from seeing the difference you make, volunteering will give you new skills that stay with you.
All sorts of people volunteer as CAB advisers and provide free, confidential, independant and impartial advice. There ae some things that bureau advisers do have in common though:
- good listening skills
- work well as part of a team
- are open minded and don't judge people or their circumstances
- enjoy helping people
- are available 4 - 6 hours per week
- enjoy learning new skills
We aren’t looking for legal experts –simply people who will share their time and talents to help their local community. You will receive extensive training in a friendly and supportive working environment.
You may feel a little apprehensive about becoming a CAB volunteer but don't be, you shall receive all the help and support you require.
